Marital discord between husband and wife had led to registration ofFIR No. 277/2014 under Sections 498-A/406/34 IPC at Police Station Hari

Nagar.Husband and wife have settled the matter amicably vide asettlement/agreement. They have decided to part ways, inasmuch as haveobtained decree of divorce by mutual consent from the Family Court, TisHazari Courts, Delhi on 26[th]November, 2014.Terms of settlement havebeen complied with by the parties.Out of the settled amount of`16,00,000/-, sum of `13,00,000/- has already been received byrespondent no. 2 from the petitioner no. 1.Remaining settled amount of

`3,00,000/- has been paid to respondent no. 2 by way of demand draft todayin Court, photocopy whereof has been placed on record. Respondent no. 2is present in Court and submits that she has no objection in case FIR isquashed.

Keeping in mind that parties have settled their disputes amicably,inasmuch as have taken decree of divorce by mutual consent, no fruitfulpurpose would be served in keeping them entangled in the criminalproceedings. Accordingly, in the interest of justice, FIR No. 277/2014 underSections 498-A/406/34 IPC registered at Police Station Hari Nagar and theconsequent proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.

Petition is disposed of in the above terms. Dasti.
