(1)Present petition under Section 482 Cr.P.C. has been preferredby the petitioners for quashing of FIR No.142/2012 under Sections498-A/406/34 IPC registered at Police Station Moti Nagar. It is statedthat the matter has been settled with the complainant/victim amicably.(2)Respondent No.2-complainant is present before the Court alongwith her counsel and is identified by him. I have enquired from thecomplainant whether the matter has been settled with the petitionersamicably without fear and pressure. She has informed that the matterhas been settled without any fear or pressure and she has no objectionCRL.M.C. 1262/2016Page 1 of 2

to the quashing of the FIR.Pursuant to the settlementa sum of`20,000/- (in cash) has been handed over to the complainant today inthe court. Statement of the complainant recorded separately. Divorceby mutual consent has been granted.

(3)The petition is supported by the affidavits of the parties.

(4)Since the complainant/Respondent No.2 has voluntarily settledthe dispute with the petitioners, no useful purpose will be served tocontinue with the proceedings. In the interest of justice and to put anend to the litigation and to enable the parties to settle in life afterdivorce,FIRNo.142/2012underSections498-A/406/34IPCregistered at Police Station Moti Nagar and all the proceedingsemanating therefrom are quashed.

(5)The petition is disposed of accordingly.
