It appears that petitioner had filed an application with the Government

of NCT of Delhi for grant of parole. The said application was not decidedexpeditiously, accordingly, petitioner filed W.P. (Crl.) 3718/2016 seekingparole on the following grounds.

(i)To prepare and appear in Bachelor of Administrative LawExaminations;Examinations;

(ii)To appear before Registrar of Marriages, Chandigarh on 19[th]January, 2017;January, 2017;

(iii)To attend personal contact programmes from 28[th]January, 2017

to 30[th]January, 2017; and

(iv)To maintain social ties.

The writ petition was disposed of vide order dated 26[th]December,2016 with the directions to Government of NCT of Delhi to dispose of theapplication/representation of petitioner within three days from the date ofreceipt of order.

Therefore, petitioner was granted parole for two weeks by theGovernment of NCT of Delhi vide order dated 27[th]December, 2016(Annexure P2). Petitioner had prayed for grant of parole for three monthsbut he was granted parole for two weeks only.

Learned Senior counsel for the petitioner submits that application forextension of parole period was moved before the Government of NCT ofDelhi on 30[th]December, 2016 but the same has not been disposed of tillnow, even though parole period is expiring on 13[th]January, 2017. Petitionerhas already married last year. However, the marriage is to be registered on19[th]January, 2017 at Chandigarh.Petitioner has also to attend personalcontact programme from 28[th]January, 2017 to 30[th]January, 2017. Despitethis, Government of NCT of Delhi has granted parole only for two weeks. Itis further submitted that on earlier occasions also, petitioner was granted

parole for attending personal contact programme.

Learned counsel submits that parole period may be extended to enable

the petitioner to get the marriage registered and also to attend the personalcontact programmes.Keeping in mind the totality of circumstances, asdetailed above, the parole period of petitioner is extended upto 31[st]January,2017 on the same terms and conditions.

Petition is disposed of. Miscellaneous application is disposed of asinfructuous.
