The prayer made in the petition has been answered.
Learned counsel for the State under instructions from the Investigating Officer states that separate FIR under Sections 498-A/406 of the IPC shall be registered on the complaint of the petitioner
which is yet pending before the CAW Cell as inquiry is not yet complete. The Investigating Officer shall ensure that after investigation is complete, the necessary steps for culmination of that investigation shall be taken expeditiously and preferably within an outer limit of six weeks from today.
This Court notes the information received from the learned counsel for the State (under instructions from the Investigating
Officer) that Sections 498-A/406 which were added to the FIR registered under Sections 376/354 of the IPC shall not be pressed as separate FIR qua that offence shall be registered.
Petition disposed of in the above terms.
