CORAM:

HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE VIBHU BAKHRUO R R%25.07.2018

1.Mr Kirtiman Singh, the learned counsel appearing for the respondentshas handed over letter dated 19.07.2018. The letter indicates that petitionerno.2 has been called upon to confirm his willingness for sponsorship offeredby the DGR. In view of the above, the learned counsel for the petitionersseeks to withdraw the present petition.

CM 27459/2018, 28071/2018, 28552/2018

2.These are all intervention applications filed on behalf of certainofficers who would be affected on account of the petitioners being offeredsponsorship. Mr Jatan Singh, learned counsel appearing for one of theinterveners submits that the period during which the intervener in CM No.

27459/2018 can avail of the sponsorship would expire on 08.08.2018 and ifno sponsorship is given to him, he would be permanently deprived of thesame.

3.Granting sponsorship to any one of the applicants would undoubtedlyhave an undue cascading effect. Respondent no.2 (DGR) is required to offersponsorship strictly as per the seniority list. Admittedly, the petitioners wereoffered sponsorship but the same was withheld on account of certaininquiries which are now over and they have been exonerated. Plainly, theyare entitled to retain their seniority position. In the event the interveners arebeing deprived of any opportunity on account of them being lower in theorder of seniority, no relief can be granted to them. The applications are alsoaccordingly dismissed.

4.Order dasti under the signature of Court Master.
