The petitioners, both of whom are senior citizens and the parents-in-law of respondent No. 2, seek police protection against the actions of respondent No. 2, who it is alleged, is interfering in their peaceful living.

2.Mr. M. Hasibuddin, learned counsel appearing for the petitioners submits that respondent No. 2 was married to the petitioners’ son, who they had disowned back in 2010. The son however passed away on 14.06.2020.

3.Counsel submits that in any case the son and respondent No. 2 had been living away from the petitioners alongwith their child and the petitioners had no relations with them. Now however, it is contended, that respondent No. 2 has been harassing and threatening the petitioners with ulterior motive.Though complaints dated 08.06.2014, 14.11.2017, and most recently dated 08.08.2020, have been made to

the police authorities, apart from several distress calls to the PCR; however the petitioners’ grievance has not been addressed.

Be that as it may, what Mr. Hasibuddin prays for today is that the petitioners, being senior citizens, be permitted quick and effective recourse by the police authorities in the event respondent No. 2 creates any trouble.
