1.The Petitioner has approached this Court with the following prayers:-

“(a) Issue writ/ direction/ order in the nature of mandamus or any other appropriate writ, order or direction thereby directing the Respondents to allot flat to the petitioner in Jahangir Puri Camp as the flats were allotted to other victims of Sikh Riots of 1984 as well as enhanced compensation to petitioner; mandamus or any other appropriate writ, order or direction thereby directing the Respondents to allot flat to the petitioner in Jahangir Puri Camp as the flats were allotted to other victims of Sikh Riots of 1984 as well as enhanced compensation to petitioner;

(b) Issue writ/direction/order in the nature of mandamus or any other appropriate writ, order or

direction thereby directing the Respondents to take the strict action on those officers who have not taken the appropriate action despite the direction by this Hon’ble court to resolve the issue of allotment of flat expeditiously to the victim-petitioner of the Sikh Riots 1984 vide its order dated 19.02.2016 in W.P.(C) No.5674/2013.”

2.Material on record shows that the Petitioner is victim in the riots. The Petitioner had approached this Court by filing W.P.(C) 5674/2013 which was regarding allotment of flat which was being given to victims of the riots which took place in the year 1984 and this Court disposed of the

writ petition on 19.02.2016 and passed the following order:-

“After some arguments, learned counsel for the petitioner wishes to withdraw the present writ petition with liberty to file an appropriate application for allotment of flat with Deputy Commissioner (North).

With the aforesaid liberty, the present writ petition is disposed of.

In the event, such an application is filed, the Deputy Commissioner (North) is directed to dispose of the same as expeditiously as possible. Rights and contentions of all parties are left open.”

3.It is stated that pursuant to the said order, representation was given by the Petitioner on 06.06.2016. It is said that eight years have passed and till date the representation has yet not been disposed of.

4.As last opportunity, the Respondents are directed to consider and dispose of the representation given by the Petitioner positively within eight weeks from today.

5.The writ petition is disposed of with these directions. Pending

application(s), if any, stand disposed of.

6.Liberty is granted to the Petitioner to file an appropriate application in case the direction of this Court is not complied with.
