Mr. Vinay Kumar, Advocate holding brief of Mr. V.P. Bahuguna, learned counsel for the petitioner.

Mr. M.C. Tewari, learned Deputy Advocate General for the State of Uttarakhand.

Mr. Sandeep Kothari, learned counsel for respondent No. 2 – GMVN.

Petitioner is regular employee of Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam (in short ‘GMVN’). He is working as Safai Nayak in GMVN. His services were terminated vide order dated 23.06.2018 passed by Managing Director, GMVN. Soon thereafter, petitioner has filed departmental appeal before the appellate authority under the applicable rule, however, the said appeal has not been decided so far.

By means of this petition, petitioner has sought direction to the appellate authority to decide appeal at the earliest.

Having regard to the facts and circumstances of the case, present writ petition is disposed of with direction to appellate authority to decide the appeal of the petitioner as expeditiously as possible, preferably within eight weeks from the date of production of certified copy of this order.
