CORAM:

HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE NAJMI WAZIRI O R R

% 12.10.2018

The petitioner seeks expeditious trial in four cases pending against him since 2007. Charges were framed earlier this year but it has been almost decade and the pendency is causing extreme distress to the petitioner, who claims himself to be innocent of the charges.

Ms. Richa Kapoor, the learned counsel for the State submits that the prosecution also would be interested in an early disposal of the cases; that the State will make request before the Trial Court to have the cases disposed off within eight months from today.

In view of the above, the Trial Court is requested to expedite the trial of the cases and endeavour to dispose off the cases in year’s time.

The petition is disposed off in the above terms.
